Abstrak

Learning media is a tool or intermediary that is useful for facilitating the teaching and learning process, in order to streamline communication between teachers and students. This is very helpful for teachers in teaching and makes it easier for students to receive and understand lessons. The research used is qualitative phenomenology. The research data sources used were informants, facilities and infrastructure in the Kemuneng Hulu Elementary School environment and data sources in the form of symbols, such as school background, vision, mission and school goals, analysis of the learning environment and data relevant to learning strategies. Collection techniques the data used in this study are observational interviews, and documentation. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the role of the media in social studies learning includes: Tik as a medium for direct interaction between students and their environment, Tik as a medium to produce uniformity of observations, Tik as a medium to arouse students' new desires and interests, Tik as a medium provide an integral / comprehensive experience of something concrete, ICT as a medium provides opportunities for students to learn independently, at a place and time and at a self-determined pace.
